The 2020 group ride season was supposed to kick-off in May. 2020 had other plans for us all. You still get to benefit from all the great planning that went into the rides.

Thanks to Brooke and the Flower City team!

Here are the Ride #1 details from Brooke:

Ride #1: This was going to be our kick-off ride in May! The route starts in Fairport, where you can do a tiny, but sweet little “hike” through a wetland trail at Thomas Creek Wetland Walk. There’s a very small parking lot next to the trail. Hop on the Erie Canal towpath eastbound for a short bit from there, cross the canal at the ped/bike bridge to hop on the “Rochester, Syracuse, and Eastern Trail.” The plan was to take this trail to either Perinton Rec Center’s playground or farther out to Egypt Park Playground next to Lollypop Farm. There are four road crossings – two major (Ayrault and Rt 31), two minor. Keep in mind with COVID, playgrounds may not be open or may not be cleaned, so do what suits your family. I’m still keeping this on the list for when we do ride together again, but maybe you want to check out a new trail on your own before that. Happy riding!

As always, reach out to the Flower City Family Cycling team if you have any questions!
